Blanks - Rod blanks by St. Croix, Rainshadow, Sage, Tiger Eye and Fenwick. Blanks are made of graphite and/or fiberglass. Spinning and casting blanks are available in one-piece or two-piece.

Handles - Wooden handles are available in red cedar, butternut, cherry and catalpa.

• Three piece - (Fore, butt grip and reel seat) made from a single piece of wood.

Guides - Silicon Carbide (or SIC) is the most durable, hardest advanced ceramic. Color selections for the SIC guides are black, silver and gold. Other guides by Fuji, REC, American Tackle and Pacific Bay are also available.

Backwater Rods can design and build any fly rod you desire at a cost that will be considerably lower than that of a commercial rod. You can pick a high-end rod blank or less expensive blank as well as the other components that make up a well-built fly rod.
